She has the distinction of having appeared on television continuously for the longest period of time of any female in the Valley. Jan began her television career in 1976 as an anchor for KTVN Ch 2 in Reno, Nevada (CBS).
In 1978, she became the first PM Magazine co-host in a small market, capturing a 48 share in its first year, making it the country’s highest-rated PM Magazine.
Jan returned to KTVK Channel 3 in Phoenix in 1979 to co-host PM Magazine for the second time and stayed for the next 23 years.
