Jukka Veistola studied at the Atheneum Art School in Helsinki, graduated as the best student and received the teachers’ scholarship in 1969.
He has won medals of all colours in international poster biennials and other international competitions – examples include the gold and bronze medals of the Warsaw Poster Biennial, and the first prize in Unicef’s poster contest in Paris.
His works feature in several books, including Graphic Design of The World, Vol. 1 (Japan, 1993) and The Modern Poster (NY MoMA, 1988). He served as a jury member at international poster biennials and design competitions, including Warsaw, Colorado, Paris, Mexico City, New York and Helsinki.
He was a member of the Federation of Finnish Enterprises; Grafia Finnish Graphic Designers; Helsinki Chamber, Finland; JCA (Japan Creators Association); NYADC (honorary member).
